Hello,

My name is Ruth Schleppi-Verboom.

I’m a writer, a mother of four, and someone who is learning the meaning of small moments and small things.

That sounds like a cliche, straight from AI, I know. And I should have learned it by now (I am 58).
But I haven't. So, I sojourner on, and learn to recognize the beauty in these.

There's so much chaos and pain in the world — we all know this. Yet, within it, are glimpses of beauty.

And I don't want to miss these beautiful glimpses.

Hues of green, outstretched branches of a magnolia tree, a teapot, words like bountifully, and the smile of a passer-by. And God in the midst of it all.
These are the stories I write about.
Speaking of big moments... this is my family. No small feat, to get everyone together on a sunny afternoon.

C.S. Lewis once said: Don't tell your readers
how to feel, instead make them feel.

I wrote a book!

For several years on Sunday Evenings, I helped Joni Eareckson Tada. If you know Joni, you can imagine the impact this had on my life. Often people ask me what I learned from Joni and I could write a million chapters. Or summarize it in one sentence…

Joni’s eyes are fixed on Jesus. Always.

I've find there is incredible strength and beauty in this.

Not wanting to forget our conversations I started writing things down. And those notes became a book...

Sunday Evenings with Joni

conversations about life’s chaos and God’s amazing grace

Another thing I learned from Joni was about prayer. The whole story is in the book, but in a nutshell it is this (see video)

It changed everythign for me, and I wanted to remind myself to pray like this. A tattoo seemed a bit much..., so I designed a necklace instead.
The 80-20.

I loved working on jewelry so much, that this one piece inspired me to start a whole jewelry collection!

Ruthfully Jewelry

jewelry to remind us of the goodness of God

And that’s enough about me, for now.
Thank you for being here!
